Client Background
The Department of Education is funding the project to improve IT facilities within schools around the UK. Each school is responsible for procuring their own network integrator, but must meet the standards held by the DofE.
IT systems schools is fundamental to modern day teaching, with much of the operating systems becoming cloud based and along with interactive teaching methods with the use of tablets and other IT devices, its imperative that the schools IT infrastructure is at the leading edge of technology. Therefore a modern, high speed, high bandwidth Wi-Fi network is on every head teachers wish list.
The Challenge
UCS are respected as Education Specialists given the long history of delivering ICT in to Schools. For many decades the Schools within the “Priority Investment Areas” DfE identified, was annual budgets for ICT were just that, budgeted. From the outset, the main focus was to maximise the funding grant allocated to the School directly using components of manufactures warrant and support packages, best of breed equipment and an extraordinary user acceptance test profile. Many of the Schools have incumbent support engineers, ranging from Trust wide to man in his van. The Package UCS Technologies prepared allowed the continuation of the incumbent and management support long after UCS Technologies were complete.

The products are equipped with 10yr manufacturing support packages and established cloud management. From the initial intrinsic survey, we designed a blanket Wi-Fi6 solution using mGB/smartrate connectivity.

The Outcome
