Client Background
The Newton Aycliffe site has 310 employees across the 160-acre site. The location is composed of 4 polymerisation plants, a power plant, labs, offices, compounding halls, a golf course, and a nature reserve. The plant produces PVC materials and 1 in 3 homes within the UK have PVC window frames from INEOS as they are the UK’s only PVC resin manufacturer. This site is Europe’s largest single plant for the manufacture of PVC.
The Challenge
UCS provided a quotation for the works at the Newton Aycliffe site in October 2021, with on-site work commencing in November 2021. UCS quoted for the installation of a new fibre connection, relocation of an existing cable, and testing.
The Technical Solution
Fibre optic link (1x24c OS2 single-mode fibre optic cable) to connect the Server and Distribution cabinets. Relocation of 2 existing fibre cables (OS2 single-mode) to an alternative patch panel to free up space in the cabinet. Testing and labelling.
