Client Background
Brentford Football Club’s Training Academy required a robust and future-proofed network infrastructure to support the club’s growing technological needs. Working in collaboration with Portakabin, UCS Technologies was selected to deliver a comprehensive Cat 6a B2ca network system within a tight timeframe. The project aimed to streamline multiple critical systems—including AV, CCTV, door access, and WiFi—into one integrated structured network. The project was completed in mid-September 2024.
The Challenge
One of the main challenges of this project was meeting the client’s strict timeframe. The installation began during the first week of August 2024, with a completion target set for mid-September to ensure the Academy’s immediate occupancy. The project was also constrained by the fact that the installation occurred within temporary Portakabin structures, requiring careful planning to minimise visible containment and maintain aesthetic integrity.
What UCS Technologies Did
To meet these challenges, UCS Technologies designed the network to minimise containment, while ensuring maximum efficiency and quality. All external containment was painted black to match the Portakabin’s exterior, as specified by Brentford FC, blending the network infrastructure seamlessly into the environment. The installation included Cat 6a network links, fibre optics, and robust comms cabinets, ensuring that the club’s audiovisual, CCTV, door access, and WiFi systems were fully integrated into a single structured network.The Technical Solution
The installation was completed within the designated timeframe, with Brentford FC Training Academy moving into the facility immediately after project completion. Though formal feedback has not yet been received, the lack of complaints indicates that the installation met the club’s needs effectively.

The Outcome
